Right. Its been a slow start to 2011. Enthusiasm for my blog has been distinctly lacking mainly due to the loss of my iPhone.
Checking out the usual websites as part of the morning ritual , and came across this great little article on Fast.Co. As we all know, infographics are something of a phenomena in the last 12-18 months but they are generally constricted to telling stories about the internet. An infographic is undoubtedly one of the best ways of making a boring data driven document into something even your 94 year old Granny could understand. If infographics are so great at telling these stories why restrict them to web ?
The above probably isn’t the answer to all packaging but it goes a long way to surfacing the inherent problems that currently exist on nearly all products on the shelf at our supermarkets. Mobile technology is an obvious area for potential / interaction with the products and one that will undoubtedly flourish in the 2011 / 2012. It would be a brave move for any product to sacrifice their existing brand identity for a content’s driven ‘infographic’ packaging, but it would put the product would be at the core to the consumer. Anyhow, food for thought.
