So. On YouTube today there is a Homepage takeover for the Conservative Party. This would have cost them in the region of £50k, and is undoubtedly a last minute push to get some votes. I think it’s a great bit of media activation from them. However, Once you click through to the watch page for the video there are a number of comments below that are pretty anti-conservative.
From a Social moderation perspective, there seems to be an interesting argument. Its politics, do you let ‘ the people ‘stimulate and manage their own debate/conversations ? Or, Do you (social moderator) actually get involved with the conversation to influence / inform etc ?
Not seeing much of the latter, with comments like ‘ fuck the tory cunts. Fuck the lot of them. Labour all the way!!! ‘ appearing beneath his manifesto.
